Obama - I was a Scout

In January he will become the first black president of the United States,
and honorary president to the Boy Scouts of America.

What many didnt know is that President Obama was a Scout at a young age
though not in America.

Obama's Scouting began when his family moved from his birthplace of Hawaii
to Indonesia, where he joined Gerakan Pramuka; The Indonesian Scout
Association.

He joins the list of famous Scouts, like Tony Blair, Natasha Kaplinsky,
Harrison Ford, Richard Branson, Paul McCartney and Ainsley Harriot, Obama
can claim to be one of a number of Scouts who have gone on to extraordinary
achievements. He is the eighth US President to have been a Scout.

Out of the 11 Astronauts that went to the moon, 10 were Scouts. Scouting
Radio are still trying to find out how the other one got there.

Obama left the Indonesian Scouts in 1972 when his family moved backed to
Hawaii and the rest, as they say, is history
